Project Life - week 6

Walking in the forest with my friend Ami, her son Joey (the monkey on her back) on a nice foggy day. Next time it is my turn to have Joey in the backpack.
Jared is inputing information for his science experiment.
James and Jared running some tests for a homework assignment.
This is a 5 times a week process. Caleb puts his backpack onto the ledge, sits down and hoists it up. Big deal you might think... that is until you pick up the 40+ lb backpack.
Tesla allowing Caleb to offer a little bit of love.

Project Life ~ week 5

Castle on the hill in the neighboring village just 4 minutes from our house.
Boys climbing a tree at the Heidelberg Schloss - too dark for a good photo though.
First complete family photo of the new year. Plan on doing this monthly.
Krystal and Sebastian came to visit us. What a gorgeous day for a trip to the castle.
My three guys...

Project Life - week 4

Looking into a mirror - what a sight...
Here's looking at you...

Snow up high but not down low - thought it was a neat view.

This bruschetta was amazing - best thing I ate all day.

Lunch with my honey in a green house. Very cool - candles and plants everywhere and under one table there was even grass growing.

a typical evening - noses in a laptop - some are working, some are watching tv shows online and others are just listening to music or surfing

James preaching again - this time on whether we are obeying some of God's word or The SUM of God's word. Great lesson!

See how Tesla is bristling? She is guarding the house from the black cat who had the audacity to sit on our patio. You should have seen her attack the glass and scare the black cat off.

Brrr, a cold, cold, Sunday morning...

Weird statues

What a strange sight and the statue is pretty weird too! lol

These bizarre statues were all over the castle grounds. Very steampunk meets Willy Wonka meets Alice in Wonderland (Johnny Depp style). Not sure what to think about it and what the meaning behind them is. Going to have to research it and see what I can come up with)

Goat eyes combine with a nice chin and bottom lip but the rest is just beyond me.

Kind of pretty... but the eyes on the eyelids is bizarre.

Profile of the beautiful face - wonder what the artist was thinking?

Bizarre, yet compeling in some way. All these weird statues were on the grounds of the castle with the moat which we found in Angelbachtal just a mere 7 minutes from the house.

An honest to goodness MOAT

We went to a beautiful old castle in Angelbachtal on a very very cold Saturday afternoon. It was a sunny day and so so pretty. But man was it cold. The best part is that this lovely old castle with moat and verdant park are only 7 kms from our home. An easy bike ride once warm weather sets in. Looking forward to that.

The moat was teeming with large fish and a lot of ducks and one very large swan.

The tree lined walk up to the castle and moat.
The castle itself is now a Rathouse (City Hall) and Polizei station (police).
Doesn't much look like the old castles you see in ruins. But still quite pretty.
Gorgeous park surrounds the castle.
Jared is afraid the swan is going to come and attack him.

Project Life - week 3

James preaching on "The Final Destination".
the first geocache of the new year. The boys found two really close to each other - only one was on our list! SCORE!!

Tesla in her favorite place on the couch - she sometimes licks James head - lol.

Pioneer Woman cinnamon rolls - made these while visiting with my 2 friends, Ami & Stacie - they each got a pan of cinnamon rolls just for keeping me company. BTW - made with wheat I had just ground into flour that morning.

my new bible study - think I am going to learn a lot - hope that it can bless James and make my marriage even better

mmmm brotchen, James and I went for a walk early Saturday morning to get pastries from the local backerei - yumm!

James and I hiking in the forest on the first sunny day in ages - did come home pretty muddy though because of all the rain and snow
